Next week’s council meeting has been postponed due to the recent cyber attack at Stratford city hall.
City staff said Thursday both the council and committee meetings originally slated for Tuesday have been rescheduled for April 29.
As for operations at city hall, not much has changed since Tuesday – phone lines are back up but email is still down.
“We are working to bring it back online as soon as possible,” the city said in a statement.
Until then, city staff continue to process routine transactions manually. The clerk’s office is taking calls from residents on the issue at 519-271-0250 ext. 237.
Meanwhile, Stratford police sent out a brief statement Thursday that officers are “currently conducting a criminal investigation into a breach of the city’s computer system.” Police say anyone with specific information they feel could be helpful to investigators can call 519-271-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
